Article Summary

The quick Scoop

TOV offers three delivery options: free basic shipping to your doorstep, in-home room-of-choice delivery starting at $69, and in-room delivery with full assembly starting at $149. In-stock items typically ship within a few business days; preorder items have lead times noted on the product page. This guide covers every delivery tier, what each includes, and what to expect from order to front door.

Delivery Types: What You Get

TOV offers three delivery options. Which one applies to your order depends on the item, your location, and what you select at checkout.

Basic Shipping

free on orders over $299

Your order is delivered to the front doorstep or ground-floor entrance of your home -- wherever the carrier can safely place it. Smaller items do not require an appointment; larger items will have a delivery window scheduled. There is no unpacking and no signature required. You will need to bring the item inside and handle assembly yourself.

In-Home Delivery

starting at $69

A delivery team brings your order to the room of your choice, up to two flights of stairs. This is a great option if you are in an apartment or just need help moving a large piece without the full setup service. The carrier will contact you by email and phone to schedule your delivery window, and you will receive a notification when the team is about 30 minutes away. Signature required on delivery. Note: the team does not unbox or remove packaging. If you are considering a return, keep the original boxes.

In-Room Delivery and Assembly

starting at $149

A two-person delivery team delivers your order to the room of your choice, unpacks it, and fully assembles it. Up to two flights of stairs included. Appointment scheduling and a signature are required. The team does not dispose of packaging -- keep the boxes in case you need to return or exchange. For combined orders with multiple items, TOV may consolidate everything into a single delivery once all items are available; contact us in advance if you would like a split shipment (additional cost applies). Note: the delivery team does not install items that permanently modify your space, including anti-tipping hardware, wall-mounted items, mirrors, lighting, or art. Check the Assembly Instructions on each product page to see exactly what assembly your item requires.

Timelines: When to Expect Your Order

In-stock items

Items marked as in-stock typically process and ship within 3 to 7 business days of order placement. Actual delivery timing after shipment depends on your location and the carrier. You will receive tracking information once your order ships. In-home delivery orders will include a scheduling call to confirm your delivery window after shipment.

Preorder items

Preorder items have estimated availability dates listed on the product page at the time of purchase. These dates reflect the expected arrival of inventory to our warehouses and are estimates subject to production and shipping variables. You will be notified when your preorder item is ready to ship. If your order includes both in-stock and preorder items, they may ship separately.

Appointment scheduling for In home delivery

For in-home and in-room assembly deliveries, the carrier will contact you by email and phone to arrange your delivery window after your order ships. Delivery windows are typically half-day or full-day. Someone must be present to accept, inspect, and sign for the delivery. If you need to reschedule, contact the delivery carrier as soon as possible to avoid missed delivery fees.

Building Restrictions and Special Access

Elevators and stairwells

If your building has an elevator, check the interior dimensions (width, depth, and door opening width) before ordering large pieces. Some buildings require advance booking for elevator access -- coordinate this with your building manager before your delivery window. If there is no elevator, confirm that stairwell dimensions and turning clearances can accommodate your piece before placing your order. Package dimensions are listed on each product page to help you calculate access requirements. Both in-home delivery tiers cover up to two flights of stairs.

Building restrictions and dock access

Some buildings require advance notification for deliveries, restrict delivery hours, or require use of a specific service entrance. Coordinate these requirements with your building manager before your delivery date and communicate them to the carrier in advance. Complications caused by building restrictions not flagged ahead of time may result in a delivery fee. Some buildings also require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) before accepting a delivery -- contact our customer service team with your building's requirements and we will handle it.

Remote areas

TOV covers most areas across the continental US. Some remote locations fall outside our standard service area and cannot be reached by our carriers. In those cases, TOV will provide the applicable shipping cost for your approval before processing the order.

Missed Delivery

If no one is available to accept a scheduled in-home delivery, the carrier will typically attempt to reschedule. A missed delivery fee may apply depending on the carrier's policy. For basic shipping deliveries, the carrier will leave a notice and attempt redelivery or hold the item at a local facility for pickup.

If you need to reschedule, contact the carrier directly using the information in your shipping confirmation as soon as you know you cannot make the window. Reschedules made with sufficient advance notice typically avoid fees. Do not wait until the day of delivery to reschedule if you can avoid it.

Delivery Day Checklist

1. Inspect before you sign

Check the item and packaging for visible damage. If anything looks wrong, note it on the delivery receipt before signing. Specific language helps: "Left rear leg scuffed" is far more useful for a claim than "possible damage."

2. Photograph anything that concerns you

Take photos of any damage or irregularities before the team leaves. This creates a timestamped record that strengthens any claim.

3. Confirm all components are present

For items that ship in multiple pieces, check that everything has arrived before signing off.

4. Confirm assembly for in-room delivery orders

If you selected in-room delivery and assembly, confirm that assembly is complete and the item is functioning correctly before the team leaves.

5. Do not sign as undamaged without a full inspection

If you have not been able to inspect everything, do not sign the receipt as undamaged. You have the right to note any concerns before signing.
