Here's the thing: picking a sofa isn't complicated. It just feels that way because the stakes feel high. (It's a big piece of furniture. You sit on it every day. Fair enough.) But with three real questions answered: How big? How firm? What fabric? We’ve got you covered and you’re basically done.

Step 1: Measure Your Space (Size Matters Here)

The 18-Inch Rule
Leave at least 18 inches between your sofa and the coffee table. Less than that and you're doing parkour to reach the remote. More than 3 feet and the conversation area starts to feel like a conference room.

Standard Sofa Sizes
Small (under 75"): Apartments, studios, rooms where the sofa lives against the wall. Look for the Carraway or Lou, both punch above their size visually but won't eat your floor plan.

The Doorway Test
Before you order: measure your doorway, hallway, stairwell, or elevator. Most TOV sofas are delivered in legs-off configuration to help with tight entries, but a 100" sofa still needs to make the turn. What "Firm" Actually Means

Plush sofas use softer foam and sometimes down-blend cushions for that sink-in-and-stay feeling. Great for: movie marathons, people who prefer a cozy nest over a structured seat, and anyone who gets asked "is your sofa as comfortable as it looks?" a lot.

Vegan Leather
The practical statement piece. Wipes clean. Doesn't absorb stains. Looks sharper with age (unlike real leather, no cracking). Best for: families with kids, pet households, and anyone who wants to look put-together without working for it.

Performance Fabric
Built for real life. Stain-resistant, liquid repellant, easy to clean, holds color well. Best for: high-traffic households, hosts, and anyone who's ever Googled "how to get red wine out of a sofa at midnight."
