Watch this video guide for step-by-step instructions on tackling heat marks on wood furniture.
Quick Fix Using Household Items: To remove white heat stains from wood surfaces, you only need four common household items: a steam iron, a clean towel, a paper towel, and a bit of vegetable oil. This method takes just 30 to 60 seconds and can effectively eliminate most white heat stains caused by hot items like mugs or dishes.
Steps to Remove Heat Marks -
Step 1: Cover the stain with a towel and gently run a steam iron over it for a few seconds to allow heat and steam to lift the mark.
Step 2: If the stain begins to reappear, apply a small amount of vegetable oil to a paper towel.
Step 3: Quickly iron over the towel again, then rub the oil into the wood in circular motions to seal and restore the finish.
Why it works: The combination of moist heat and oil helps rehydrate the wood finish and remove cloudy white marks without damaging the surface.
Note: Before applying any cleaning solution to the entire wood surface or affected area, test it on a hidden spot—such as the underside of a table leg—to ensure it doesn’t damage the finish. If the finish remains unaffected, proceed with the steps below.
Steps to Remove Smudges -
Step 1: Mix a few drops of mild dish soap into a bowl of warm water.
Step 2: Dampen a soft cloth or sponge with the soapy solution (do not soak the wood).
Step 3: Gently wipe the smudged surface.
Step 4: Dry the area thoroughly with a clean cloth a few minutes after cleaning

Caring for your furniture shouldn't be complicated. We've made it easy with fabric-specific guides designed to keep your pieces looking their best. From rich velvet to modern bouclé, each fabric deserves its own care. Find easy, fabric-specific tips and tricks to help your favorite pieces stay beautiful and last longer.
Velvet is a luxurious and delicate fabric. With the right care, its signature softness and elegant texture can last for years. This guide helps you treat wrinkles, stains, and general wear—without damaging the pile.
Removing Creases & Flattened Pile in Velvet
Before You Start -
Steps to Remove Wrinkles -
Step 1: Use a handheld steamer (preferred) or the “Steam” function on an iron set to the lowest heat (~300°F).
Step 2: Begin steaming from a distance and slowly move closer—but never closer than 1 inch.
Step 3: Let the steam rise onto the fabric. Do not press the steamer or iron directly onto the velvet.
Step 4: Steam from bottom to top to maximize lift.
Step 5: Gently brush the fabric in the same direction as its natural texture using a soft-bristle brush, microfiber towel, or terry cloth.
Cleaning Stains & Spills on Velvet
Velvet is absorbent, so acting quickly can make a big difference when dealing with spills or stains. Follow these steps for safe, effective cleaning without damaging the texture.
Steps to Clean Spills -
Step 1: Blot the affected area immediately using a clean white cloth or paper towel — do not rub, as this can flatten the fabric.
Step 2: Slightly moisten the cloth with lukewarm water if needed and continue blotting gently.
Step 3: For light stains, mix a few drops of dish soap with warm water and whip into suds. Apply only the suds with a soft cloth, dabbing gently.
Step 4: For tougher stains, apply a dry-cleaning solvent (such as Guardsman Fabric Cleaner or Blue Coral Dri-Clean) to a cloth and dab lightly — never directly on the fabric.
Step 5: Let the area air dry fully. You may use a hairdryer on the lowest setting if necessary.
Recommended Products: Scotchgard™ Fabric & Upholstery Protector is safe for velvet when used as directed. Hold the can 6" from the fabric and apply an even coating once per year for best results.

Whether you’re setting up a new piece or fine-tuning an existing one, these guides help troubleshoot common concerns like uneven legs, stuck drawers, or missing hardware. Easy-to-follow instructions make sure your TOV furniture fits and functions as intended.
Wobbling furniture is often caused by assembly misalignment or uneven floors. Fortunately, a few quick checks and adjustments can help stabilize the piece.
Steps to Fix Uneven Legs or Wobbling -
Step 1: Double-check the leg labels—legs marked “B” may include sub-labels like B1, B2, etc. Make sure each leg is installed in the correct position based on the underside label or instruction guide.
Step 2: Loosen all bolts halfway before making any adjustments. This allows the frame to settle naturally when upright.
Step 3: Place the furniture upright on a flat surface (a floor or table). Gently press down on each corner to help the legs level out.
Step 4: Once leveled, tighten each bolt fully, alternating between opposite corners for balance.
Step 5: Look underneath the legs and check for adjustable glides or foot levelers -
• If present, rotate to raise or lower the leg for fine-tuning.
• If your legs do not have adjustable tips, place a felt pad or wedge under the shorter leg to help balance it.

If an item is damaged or defective but repairable, TOV Furniture reserves the right to arrange for a specialized furniture repair technician to visit the customer’s home for repairs. The technician will address only the damage specified in the claim. If the customer requests repairs for issues not reported in the claim, TOV will not cover those costs. Replacements or credits will only be issued if the item is deemed irreparable. If the item is deemed repairable and the customer refuses this resolution, this would be considered buyers remorse
We stock a comprehensive range of spare parts, including legs, hardware packs, and more. For minor damage or when only a replacement part is needed, we will provide the specific part rather than a full replacement.
For minor issues, we may offer a small "Keep As Is" discount to the customer. However, this discount will not be combined with other resolutions. If a full replacement or other corrective measures are provided, the "Keep As Is" discount will not apply. Each resolution option will be handled independently to ensure the customer’s concerns are effectively addressed. By accepting a Keep As Is solution, it will void our standard warranty.
