Sit In This Chair to Experience a Warm Embrace
"I love this chair so much. We bought two, one for my husband and one for myself. I had a hard time reconciling buying a chair I had not sat in for myself. I knew I could count on the aesthetics. The chair looks exactly as pictured (although there is one sitch at a join on the wooden frame that will require a little cosmetic work. . . glue (or something) is defined in a line that is well lighter than the wood. I think some furniture scratch cover-up will work. But honestly, I don't even care how the chair looks. It is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. It seems small, but it is perfect proportion for the human body. When you sit down, it feels like an embrace. You are encompassed by the soft, yet supportive structure and cushions, while nearly being petted by the nap in the velour fabric. . . almost like you are the cat sitting in someone's lap. Also, the sloping arms of the chair mirror a relaxed second position arm in ballet. I know that sounds silly, but the arms fit just right and are not so high that they make your shoulders rise. Your shoulders simply relax into the support the chair's arms give while the slope of the chair arm follows the natural line of the body. We treated ourselves to this chair in retirement, moving back home to be with family and grandchildren. We have had many old friends visit and we give them the tour of our new home. Each and every one of them is smitten with these chairs, jealous (not in a mean way) actually. The photos will show that we are not yet fully settled in, but the vibe is there. One more note, specific to the layout of our house. These chairs are in a small room we call The Sunroom, which faces east. It is at the back of the house. When we sit, it places our backs to the rest of the house. There is an amazing psychological effect to sitting with your back to the rest of the house, the business, the busyness, the responsibility, the To Do list. We sit down with a glass of wine as the light changes, talk about the day, or whatever, and reset our switches in the comfort of this chair, seemingly made just for us."
